Yes, that is why I think, it is not possible with just the 4 elements. Woodbending would have to be a whole new bending style.

I agree, Captain Nemo. I doubt its an element that CANNOT be mastered. Seems just as bendable as vines in different ways by bending the water travelling though every root and stem.

The swamp benders were really surprising to me and I never knew such benders existed. How possible do you think that there are other benders who've found different things to bend while using their natural element as the primary base?

I know those are another great "evolution" of bending, but how much further can bending evolve? Can it be used to build houses out of both wood and stone? Can it be used to form earth monsters controlled by Earth Benders? The evolution of bending is almost limitless.

About this creating-monster-ability: I can remember that Dai Li agents could cover their hands and feet with earth and then sent them out to catch things. That can be counted as controling a part of the body from the distance. I think controling an earthbody must be harder, but the style should be the same.

With Toph building a tent, lifting the statues of the badger moles and making shields it is possible but with much training obviously. She coated herself with steel in the finale which shows she can control the element with comfort.

I doubt an earth bender can actually control the movements of any earth beast since they wouldn't have control over the separate limbs like Hama does when blood bending. However, if the earth bender is inside the beast then it may be possible.

But the Dai Li agents can control the single segments of the fingers of a hand.

They can, but that's because the earth is on them. It moves with their movement. If the earth benders are within the earth beast, then it may be possible. Toph made a suit of earth and was able to move freely. So may earth benders in this beast.

I think the problem about creating an earthcreature from the distance is quite well dicribed by Joeng Joeng. He said to Aang: "earth is steady and stable"

According to that, what do you think about creature out of water. To counterattack the firedragon, can a waterbender create a waterdragon?

I think yes.
